This Privacy Policy describes how Briefd (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our service at sendbrief.io.

1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Account information: email address and name when you sign up
- Client data: names, companies, goals, and engagement notes you enter for your clients
- Report content: raw notes you submit and the generated reports we produce
- Billing information: processed by Stripe — we do not store your card details
We also collect certain information automatically when you use the service, including usage data, device information, and IP address.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Briefd service
- Generate client update narratives using AI (your notes are sent to Anthropic's API)
- Process payments through Stripe
- Send transactional emails related to your account
- Respond to your support requests
We do not sell your data. We do not use your report content to train AI models.
3. Data Sharing
We share your information only with the following service providers, as necessary to operate the service:
- Supabase — database and authentication
- Anthropic — AI report generation (your raw notes and client context)
- OpenAI — audio transcription if you use voice input
- Stripe — payment processing
- Vercel — hosting and infrastructure
All providers are bound by data processing agreements. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data and reports for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed within 30 days.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@sendbrief.io.
For users in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom, we process your data on the basis of contract performance and legitimate interests.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
7. Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy before the public launch and may update it thereafter. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice within the app.
