Terms of Service

1. Use of the Service

Briefd is a professional productivity tool for independent consultants. You may use the service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the service to generate content that is false, misleading, or harmful
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or circumvent any security measures
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use the service in ways that violate applicable laws or regulations

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately at legal@sendbrief.io if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into contracts to use Briefd.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel before the renewal date.

All fees are non-refundable except as required by law. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

The 7-day free trial begins at sign-up. No charge is made during the trial. Cancelling before the trial ends incurs no charge.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you submit to Briefd — your notes, client data, and generated reports. By submitting content, you grant us a limited licence to process it for the purpose of providing the service.

We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it to train AI models or share it with third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the service.

5. AI-Generated Output

Briefd uses AI to generate report drafts based on your input. You are responsible for reviewing all generated content before sending it to clients. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of AI-generated content for any particular purpose.

6. Acceptable Use

You may not use Briefd to generate content for industries or purposes that violate our policies or applicable law, including but not limited to content that is illegal, defamatory, or intended to deceive.

7. Service Availability

We aim to provide reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Scheduled maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control may cause temporary interruptions. We will communicate planned downtime where possible.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Briefd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity.

Upon termination, your access to the service ends. Your data is retained for 30 days during which you may request an export, after which it is permanently deleted.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes constitute acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Briefd is registered. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration where permitted by law.
